Our work
VoltaViewAfrica is a non-profit organisation dedicated to sustainable development in sub-Saharan Africa. Our work focuses on communities around Lake Victoria, where we aim to provide access to sustainable energy, smart mobility and reliable infrastructure.
Together with local partners, we develop and implement decentralised, solar-powered energy and infrastructure projects and create business models that enable long-term sustainable operation. Our aim is to provide affordable access to electricity, sustainable food production and mobility, and to gradually roll out successful approaches to other regions of Africa.

Local partnerships
We work closely with local partners, communities and businesses to develop solutions that meet the actual needs on the ground. This collaboration results in projects that not only work technically but can also be sustained socially and economically.
Close dialogue with local stakeholders ensures that knowledge is built up and long-term structures are established that have an impact beyond individual projects.
Decentralised technologies
Our projects rely on decentralised, solar-powered energy and infrastructure solutions that can operate independently of existing electricity grids. This enables a reliable supply even in regions where traditional infrastructure has previously been lacking or is only available to a limited extent.
Through modular systems and innovative technologies, energy, sustainable food production and electric mobility can be provided efficiently and sustainably.
Sustainable business models
To ensure projects function in the long term, we develop economically viable operating models together with our partners. The aim is not only to build facilities but also to ensure their long-term operation.
Through sustainable business models, we create structures that enable maintenance, operation and further development, whilst ensuring affordable access to energy, mobility and water.
