VoltaViewAfrica and ARE: Working together for a sustainable future for Africa

Since July 2024, VoltaViewAfrica gUG has been working together with the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) on sustainable development in Africa. As a non-profit organization, VoltaViewAfrica focuses on building a robust energy infrastructure in rural areas to improve people’s quality of life.

The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) is an international trade association that promotes a sustainable, decentralized renewable energy economy in the 21st century. ARE activates markets for affordable energy services and creates local jobs and inclusive economies in Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. ARE also enables improved access to energy by providing business development support to its members along the entire value chain of decentralized renewable energy technologies. As part of its UN Energy Pact, ARE has committed to empowering the private sector to deliver sustainable electricity services to at least 500 million additional people in its three focus regions by 2030, create at least 5 million green jobs and avoid at least 1 billion tons of CO2 emissions.

By working together with ARE, we can implement our projects even more effectively and make an even greater contribution to Africa’s development. An important component of our work is the use of environmentally friendly and cost-effective sodium batteries as an alternative to conventional lithium-ion batteries.

Together with ARE, we are striving for a future in which everyone in Africa has access to clean and affordable energy.
